The Xbox Series X and the more economically friendly Series S are set to launch on Tuesday, November 10, but if you haven't been able to pre-order this next-gen console yet, you may have some trouble on launch day.
As with the PlayStation 5 launch taking place just a few days later, most retailers will make the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S available on launch day online only. That means gamers will need to get their refresh fingers ready to try and get their console online.
I just purchased the latest version of Minecraft via my Xbox One. I would like to install it on my PC. (Windows 10) When I go to the Microsoft Store and click Buy, it says 'You already own this. Play Xbox One Games on Windows 10. Before getting started, make sure your Windows 10 PC, Xbox app, and the Xbox One console are both up-to-date for the best experience.
Here are the biggest U.S. retailers and what their plans for the Xbox Series X/S on launch day are.
WAL-MART
Wal-Mart was quick to announce that there won't be any Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S consoles sold on November 10. The retailer announced on its various social media accounts that gamers can try their hand at procuring their console on its website, starting at 12 p.m. EST.

GAMESTOP
GameStop has yet to give any guidance on how it will handle Xbox Series X/S orders on launch day.

BEST BUY
Best Buy has provided gamers some insight on what to expect from launch day on its site. On the corporate blog, Best Buy confirms that it will not sell the Xbox Series X/S consoles in-store on November 10, and gamers will have to purchase it online.
'If you haven't pre-ordered a new console yet, you still might be able to get your hands on one — but only on BestBuy.com. While our stores won't have devices for purchase on launch day or throughout the holiday season, keep an eye on BestBuy.com, where they'll be available for purchase as soon as we have them available. (This means there's no need to camp out at your local store, just check back on BestBuy.com without leaving home!)
'And ordering online still lets you get your new console however you want — whether that's through store pickup or contactless curbside.'

TARGET
Target has not made it explicitly clear that it won't be selling the Xbox Series X/S in-store on November 10, but its official website states that the console will 'only be available with contactless Drive Up or Order Pickup.'
This likely means that an allotment of units will be available to order online on Tuesday. Keep checking Target's Xbox Series X/S section for when the consoles go live to purchase.
